Photo Credit: BloomingdalesAfter a long day, it's time to relax... HA!-nope you have a PTA meeting. It's dark, you're tired, and the last thing you want to think about is what to wear to a school meeting. This Aqua Hooded Cape is the answer. It covers up the splatters on your shirt from making dinner, and you will be cozy and warm, you can stop holding in your belly and still look fabulous. Oh, did I mention that it is only $58! Second Chance Consignment One of my new favorite places to shop is Second Chance Consignment boutique in Bethesda, MD.

I love this white and navy sleeveless dress by Courreges circa 1960, with a white current Gucci belt. The dress sells for $220 and the belt is $180.

Along with vintage, Barbara Blesi, the very savvy and fashion forward owner, carries current designers including Prada, Marc Jacobs, Manolo Blahnik, and more.

You Know THAT Mom...

...the one you envy as she's dropping off her kids at school
looking comfortable, yet chic.
...the one that you see downtown, out to dinner with friends
--and not a milk stain to be found--in BLACK cashmere.
....the one whose trendy-but-not-overdone belt you covet
but there's just no time to find one like it
(or even find one you currently own)...
Now it's your turn.
Be THAT Mom.

Editor's Note:

As the above statement from our newest blogger points out, we all have the ability to step out of our shell and become a Fashionista or, as I like to say, a Mommyista.  For some...it might even be a path to reclaiming a style sense that might have been lost in the malaise of motherhood.   I recognized my own need for some "Professional" fashion advice (please don't ask the last time I went to a sample sale).   So after scouring the internet, I stumbled upon Be That Mom.  A spell was cast over me, I was hooked!  I was so enamored with Joyce Neave's business and blog that I asked Joyce to share her über cool fashion sense and advice with DC Metro Mommy readers.

Photo Credit: BloomingdalesI am in the market for a pair of flat, yes flat riding boots. I normally wear high heels-but my feet are tired. I plan to wear them with my casual dresses (knit sweater dresses) as well as with jeans tucked in them.

I found two pairs that I like...

Ferragmo has a great pair-The Neser Riding Boot $1090. http://www.bloomingdales.com/ They are currently having a sale-spend $1000, get 30% off!
