I recently went to an event for Northern Virginia bloggers.  This wonderful event benefited the charity, Let Mommy Sleep.  Let Mommy Sleep supports Military Families in need.  The gathering brought together a number of mommy bloggers who had hit the scene in the past two years.  It was wild to see how many "new" blogs and parent websites had been created since I first started my original site, DC Metro Mommy back in 2008. 

Nice title…right? Well let’s face facts it is true. There are some wicked women out there and (shudder) some are even moms! Until I recently had my second child…I had sort of forgotten about the bitch factor that exists in Mommyland. I have lived in the area for 12 years, have two children and, thankfully, a large circle of friends that I cherish. I haven’t much thought about the ruthless shrews that made my life miserable when I was a new mom. While woman everywhere can be nasty and mean (as can men) I am specifically talking about bitchy moms with young children.

Have you ever had a crush on a celebrity? I don’t mean…I love Brad Pitt, I mean a female. These days I don’t just envy beautiful woman as I did when I was younger. Oh to be taller, thinner, etc. I find that my celebrity crushes are on women who seem to have it all: children, a happy marriage, an enriching career and oodles of money that allows them to do whatever they want in life.

I am sure we have all heard the tragic news about Whitney Houston.  Before all the controversy that swirled around her, she was simply an amazing singer.  I followed Whitney since I was a teenager.  Long before the before the videos, songs and movies, she was a model that graced the cover of my Seventeen Magazine.  I went on to LOVE everything about her.  I grew up on Whitney's music, movies and her magic moments at the Grammy's, Super Bowl and American Music Awards.

At the Washington Conservatory of Music students of all ages and levels can study without audition under the guidance of an international artist-faculty. The WCM offers lessons on piano, guitar, all strings, voice, harp, all brass, jazz piano, improvisation, drums, percussion, conducting, and all woodwind instruments. The Washington Conservatory of Music even offers various summer music camps for children and teens.
