Before there were "kiddie rockers," there was Peter, Paul, and Mary, the iconic folk trio that spanned generations with their music and messages of hope.  Whether performing to massive crowds during the 1963 Civil Rights March or performing playful songs for children, the trio has been beloved by fans of all ages since the sixties.  Peter Yarrow's fun and interactive performance continues this legacy with folk favorites and inspiring lessons including heartwarming renditions of "If I Had a Hammer," "Blowin' in the Wind," "Leaving on a Jet Plane" and "Puff, the Magic Dragon," as well as the anti-bullying anthem, "Don't Laugh at Me."

Tickets for the Peter Yarrow performance are $15 for adults and $5 for children.  To purchase tickets please visit the box office, charge by phone at 888.945.2468, or visit hyltoncenter.org.  To enter to win a family pack of 4 tickets, send an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with "Peter Yarrow" in the subject line and include your full name.  The winner will be notified by email on February 20, 2012.  The Hylton Performing Arts Center is located on George Mason University's Prince William Campus at 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Virginia.  Free parking is available.

For the past five decades, Peter Yarrow has used his talents as a musician and organizer to focus attention on issues of the environment, peace, homelessness, health care, hospice care, education, civil rights, and gender equality.  In 1999, Yarrow founded Operation Respect, a non-profit organization that encourages a respectful, sensitive and safe climate of learning and works to reduce violence, emotional and physical cruelty and bullying among children.  Operation Respect's "Don't Laugh at Me" (DLAM) programs include summer camps and afterschool programs that employ music and video to accompany conflict resolution curricula.  With the help of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Operation Respect has distributed more than 150,000 copies of the DLAM program to educators and school counselors and has reached nearly 1/3 of all elementary and middle schools in the United States.
