April 7 Cottontail Express
Bring the kids dressed in their Easter best to meet Peter Cottontail on the Train! Follow that mischievous Peter Cottontail as he continuously attempts to sneak under farmer McGregor’s fence in order raid the prize-winning garden. This train journey, celebrating spring and the greening of the earth, includes dancing and singing bunnies, face painting, reading stories of Peter and his sisters, Flopsy and Mopsy. Join in an on-board egg hunt!
Departs Elkins Depot 11 am and 1 pm.
Brunch or Lunch at the RailYard Restaurant: 12 noon - 3 pm.
April 7 Inaugural Comedy Club Dinner Train
Interact with our local comedians while dining on the Mountain Explorer Dinner Train. In the Comedy Club Car, anything goes! This improv extravaganza consists of a series of madcap hoopla and amusing antics. Based on popular TV comedy and improv shows, The Old Brick team will have you and yours in stitches throughout the trip. Passengers will provide everything including subject matter, props, and guest appearances to create vignettes leading to who knows what.

April 21 Wine & Roses Package
Mom and Dad, leave the kids with the sitter and enjoy the fruits of our West Virginia vineyards. Taste the wines of four West Virginia wineries on this four-hour trip to the High Falls of Cheat. Learn the wine making process of each of the West Virginia vineyards. Score each according to taste, smell, color, and more. Back at the Depot, romantic dinners with live Jazz at the RailYard Restaurant.

April 28 Ramps & Rails
Learn about the Appalachian leek everyone calls "Little Stinker"! 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Local food vendors with scrumptious ramp dishes as well as craft and artisan vendors set up in the town square. Live music throughout the day. Attendees vote for their favorite ramp dish. One-hour train trips on the New Tygart Flyer. Traditional Ramp Feast at the RailYard Restaurant.

May 5 Apple Blossom Special
Take in the sites of blossoming apple trees along this 4-hour journey to the High Falls of Cheat! Enjoy dinner on your own at the RailYard Restaurant between 5-7pm. then, take in a 2-hour premier live music & variety show at the American Mountain Theater. AMT advance reservations required.

Sinead O’Halloran is furious because someone in the family has leaked many of the secrets of their successful construction business to an outsider. This Irish matriarch is traveling with her family to Washington, DC for some top secret dealings with the Federal Government. Sinead is angry enough to try “cement overshoes” on someone and one way or another will rub out the rat.

Fatal Will and Testament

The Newberg family was devastated by the death of 1970s TV producer, Hiram Newburg, and what brings out family unity more intensely than the reading of the last will and testament. On this rail trip to Newberg’s estate, one will quickly discover that this family is not the Brady Bunch, but rather Bewitched by the thought of the division of an estate worth millions and, of course, a starring role in the latest made for TV movie.

September 15 A Night with the Stars
Board the Cheat Mountain Salamander for a nighttime excursion into the depths of the wilderness to study the stars. The staff from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) will guide you through the night-time sky via telescopes. Bring a camping chair, flashlight and jacket for this outdoor excursion. This is a one-of-a-kind Star Gazing event for 2012!

Knock, Knock. Who’s There?
What do you get if you cross a bunch of aging stand-up comics and a fast moving train? This one will really kill you. Join the American Association of Retired Comics as they journey to the Catskills for what may be their final act. Tempers flare as accusations of material theft fly through the cars like one- liners at a celebrity roast. Surely Murder and mirth will follow them all the days of their lives.

The Straight Jacket Hotel
The year is 1934 and world-renowned neurologist Dr. Fredrick Von Steuben is celebrating his 25th anniversary as Director of the Transylvania Mental Hospital. His groundbreaking lobotomy technique is internationally acknowledged as state of the art in mental health care. In the Dr.’s honor, his wife Penelope is having an onboard reception to celebrate his work. A few of the patients, who are trustees of the Asylum, will be assisting at the event. In the end, insanity and vengeance have taken over. Join in this darkly hilarious Halloween horror.
